In our journey through life we move,
inwardly as well as outwardly,
between the light and the dark.
A sunlit, if often clouded, sky overarches us
and we voyage over sightless waters
through which glide the monsters of the deep.
This height and this depth contain within them
the dual poles which keep our being in balance
according as we respond, from a stable centre,
to their positive and negative pull.
